Zone24x7 took the stage in conducting a successful program with the Uwa Wellassa University in Sri Lanka on the 05th of April 2022. The program covered an extensive knowledge sharing session with the students in the Mechatronics department of the university followed by which a 10-foot Conveyor System along with other R&D equipment for Imaging, RFID, and Barcode Scanning was gifted.

The session was conducted by the Team at Zone24x7 who included – Vipula Liyanaarachchi (General Manager), Manjulal Waas (Head of Strategic Partnerships), Kanishka Wijayasekara (Architect – Embedded Systems), and Rangika Mark(Associate Project Manager) from SL, along with Llavan Fernando (Chairman), Neschae Fernando (CEO), and Dr. Gerard Fernando (Chief Scientific Officer) joined virtually from the USA.

The equipment which was originally made to demonstrate an automatic baggage/packaging sanitization unit using UV light includes key features such as Belts, Rollers, Single Phase AC Motors, VFD, Control Panels with PLC, and Tunnel. Following the session, the conveyor belt, and subsequent equipment were successfully donated to the University with the hopes of creating educational value for the students of the Mechatronics Engineering Department by providing them with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in designing and controlling similar systems used in the industry.

A special thanks is also extended to those key persons from the Uwa Wellassa University – Prof Jagath Pitawala (Dean), Dr. Thushara Ekanayake (Mechatronics Coordinator), Dr. Amila Henegamage (Head of Departments), and Dr. Ranjith Perera who helped support the Team from Zone24x7 in making the program a success and helping pave the way to inspire emotions and further strengthen the relationships between Zone24x7 and the emerging talents within the industry. Zone24x7 will continue to share knowledge and guide the students by conducting sessions in the months to come.
